Businesses Expanding into Central Pinellas County

Strategic locale is one reason why companies are moving into Clearwater, Florida. Conveniently located between the Central Business Districts of Tampa and St. Petersburg, Clearwater is close to I-275, Tampa Bay’s main transportation artery. Additionally, companies in Clearwater are in the enviable position of leveraging the resources of the Pinellas County Economic Development Center (PCED).

Clearwater businesses’ and Offices at Park Place soon-to-be newest neighbor is BayCare Health Systems (BayCare), Tampa’s biggest health care group. The new 40-acre facility will be located on Drew Street in Clearwater, east of McMullen Booth Road. As the second-largest private employer in Tampa Bay, BayCare’s 500+ employees will bring a source of new business for Clearwater and Safety Harbor companies.

In line with Pinellas’ pro-business climate, several commercial properties will directly benefit by the close proximity of the new BayCare campus. For example, Offices at Park Place (OPP), around the corner from BayCare’s planned campus, has available office space that would be ideal for professional services, shredding companies, restaurants, etc. In addition to its close proximity to its BayCare neighbor, OPP recently developed 51,000 sq. ft. in two LEED Gold-Certified buildings that include a number of green design and construction features.

Plans are underway for a third LEED building on the site, which will offer an additional 12,348 square feet of Clearwater office space for lease or purchase. Tenants in the complex include world renown TUI Marine, Brown & Brown Insurance, the Federal Government, Ultimate Staffing Services and others.
